The vast majority of it is of no real use whatsoever, just an excuse for people to bombard you with the tiny minitiae of their lives. However, you pick the right kind of people to follow and it is a fascinating peek into their lives. It's interesting how you say you scarcely post because I can see you been posting about once a day, far better than me, and which would seem to be reasonable frequency to me. By the way I don't see replies unless I follow both people in the conversation and that cuts down the crap enormously. I kind of agree about Twitter.
