The kind where a millon (not kidding!) idiots in bad costumes (mostly gay cowboys, nurses, doctors and pseudo-traditionals) go rampage, bilge drinking, singing non-funny, stupid songs and generating more (toxic?) waste than all remaining african elephants could in a year - THAT is the kind you experience here. There were two deaths yestersday, one guy stepped in front of a tram, another one got stuck between a platform and a fast train. And still 4 days to go. THAT kind might be acceptable. I used to love the time while growing up in Portugal. The songs, the celebration... music that filled up the whole town (town wasnt that big so it didnt take much, a couple of high powered speakers used to be enough ;) ) All the kids running arround with watter pistols and me with my concealable Super Soaker (one of the first models) ... good times :) AH carnival!
